The morning portion of this class will offer basic fundamentals of blacksmithing: Hammer control, Twisting, Bending/Scrolling/Texturing, We will be using metal shapes pre-cut from copper or steel sheet material.
The afternoon portion of this class is all about hydro dipping – (Floating a colorant on a fluid to create unique designs).
Extensive materials are provided for both classes and you will have many choices how you want to decorate your finished items. This class provides you with plenty of opportunity to explore various colorants, materials and techniques. You’ll go home with numerous enduring, one-of-a- kind, from-the-heart gifts. No previous blacksmithing experience required. This will be an easy, fun-filled class.
WEAR OLD CLOTHES as the hydro dip paints we use are not forgiving. (You will be provided with a set of paints to take home with you for your future projects.)
– Minimum age 18 (no exceptions please).
– If you are buying a ticket for someone else, please let us know who will attend the class and provide contact information or contact attendees in case of last-minute changes or cancellation.
– Bring your own lunch. We will take a mid-class break. We will have water.
– Masks are required for the unvaccinated, recommended for the fully vaccinated.
